Peter
Peter had considered jaw surgery and orthodontics (braces) to correct his complicated jaw position – an anterior cross bite – an inverse of a normal jaw position where the lower teeth over the upper teeth. This treatment would have involved braces combined with major surgery of splitting, repositioning and wiring the jaw. Peter’s major concern was his smile – his bite had created a “dip” in his front teeth and he was not confident when he smiled. Peter decided on a more conservative, non-surgical approach to correct his jaw problem. Using the muscle and jaw tracking computer, an ideal position was located and Peter trialled this new bite position for three months. Finally, a full mouth rehabilitation was completed with our technician, Libby Bick, in Sydney. Peter is still amazed at the end result – he definitely can’t stop smiling!
